Learning How to be an Ally for Black Colleagues
With a rise in racial consciousness and movement to end systemic racism, has come an interest in the role that individual contributors can play in becoming better allies. An ally is a person with significant power and privilege, but who takes action to support those with less power and privilege. In this webinar, Stephanie Creary will introduce her LEAP Framework for allyship and provide attendees with concrete strategies for becoming an ally for Black colleagues.

Stephanie Creary [Speaker]
Assistant Professor of Management @Wharton
Professor Stephanie J. Creary is an identity and diversity scholar and a field researcher. She is also a founding faculty member of the Wharton IDEAS lab (Identity, Diversity, Engagement, Affect, and Social Relationships), an affiliated faculty member of Wharton People Analytics, and a Senior Fellow of Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. Her research program is motivated by identifying and understanding the organizational, relational, and self work that people do to manage competing identity demands and diversity in the workplace and improve the quality of relationships across difference at work. Prior to joining the Wharton faculty, Professor Creary was on the faculty of Cornell University. Prior to completing her PhD degree, she was a research associate at Harvard Business School and The Conference Board in NYC researching corporate diversity and inclusion practices. She also has extensive work experience in the health care industry.
Zoe Kinias [Moderator]
Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour; Academic Director, Gender Initiative @INSEAD
Professor Zoe Kinias’s primary expertise focuses on diversity and resiliency bolstering interventions. Her diversity research often falls at the intersection of gender and culture, currently investigating methods for improving gender balance in organisations. Zoe’s work has been published in leading management and psychology journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Psychological Science. She shares expertise with diverse groups including academics, students, alumni, and professional organisations. Zoe’s teaching case with Felicia Henderson, entitled Mirvac: Building Balance, was recently recognized with the Case Centre’s Hot Topic award for teaching diversity, equity, and inclusion.
